In today’s era, people are becoming more inclined towards Ayurveda practices and products because it is made with natural herbs and devoid of any side effects. But many vendors and advisors are ready to persuade you to buy these products. Therefore, the question “Who can I trust?” arises in our minds. Furthermore, providing information to choose the best product for you and your family will be easier if you follow some essential authenticity verifications.

How to verify the product?

These days, a lot of people use herbal products and therapies. The national accreditation concerns the health authorities’ safety and security of raw and refined herbal products. Ayurvedic or herbal products must obtain an AYUSH License in India, which the Ministry of AYUSH supervises.

  • The AYUSH Premium Mark the Indian government issues AYUSH licenses to people who want to launch a business selling Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha, or other comparable goods. AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. It is based on GMP standards depending on WHO Guidelines and product requirements and offers the flexibility to certify against any international legislation as long as it is more severe than the previous standards.
  • GMP Certified A good manufacturing practice (GMP) method ensures that goods are consistently produced and inspected following quality standards. To encourage the sale of pharmaceuticals, the government has mandated GMP for all pharmaceutical production and trained its inspectors in GMP criteria.
  • ISI/ ISO Certification ISO (International Organization for Standardization) promotes the use of global productsIt is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 167 national standards bodies. On the other hand, The Bureau of Indian Standards is the owner of the trademark ISI which is recognized to be used on Indian products and owned by the Association of Indian Standards. 

One should be aware that the information about sellers and ingredients must be given clearly or understandably as protection of consumer rights while making an online purchase. In addition, the statement claims that the Central Consumer Protection Authority CCPA has issued safety notifications to inform and warn customers against purchasing. Products that do not carry a valid ISO, ISI, or GMP certification should not be consumed or advised because they can cause health hazards.
